Website support.
To set up your website, you must request that a web server be set up to serve your pages and allow you to send or "upload" your pages via SFTP to our servers.
Sending your files to the server.
To publish your website, you need an sftp program, or a web design program such as dreamweaver that will allow you to send your files to the server.
Examples include:-
Mac programs
Windows programs
Sending your files with an ftp program is fairly simple. you will need to enter your website address (www.yourdomain.com) and your username and password, which is the same as for your email.
When you connect to the server, you will see (at least) the following folders.
- websites
- files
- music
- pictures
Double click on the websites folder to see a list of folders containg your websites (if you have more than one). Once within your websites folder, you will see these folders:-
- public_html
- logs
Double click on this folder and save all your files in here, this is the folder our web server looks in when people go to your website. The first page you want them to see should be called index.html, this is the front page of your site.
If you have problems uploading your files to the server, please mail support@chrispyfur.net or call us on 07968-542455

We also offer support if you get stuck using PHP or PERL, so feel free to email us any problems you have with any technical aspect of your website.
